Please reach out to me if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Texting is always the fastest and preferred. You can call and leave a voicemail or email as well. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response as I am usually doing fittings or sewing during the day.
I work out of my home, and I try to be as flexible as possible. During peak season (late spring- late fall) I offer either Saturday or Sunday mornings then Monday-Wednesdays 9-5 by appointment only. Reasonable exceptions are based on a case by case basis so please don't hesitate to ask as I try to be as accommodating as possible. During the off season I try to be flexible for appointments 7 days a week excluding holidays.
If you take a front and back photo of yourself when you pick the dress up from the bridal shop (or at your house) and send them to me, I am more than happy to give you a worst case scenario for pricing once we discuss what you think is needed and what I would suggest we do. I try to do this with all clients. Transparency is key, and I want all clients to know pricing before we start the process so you can budget appropriately. If you would like to come in to talk through options, I am happy to do that as well.
Most bridal dresses require 3 fittings. The initial fitting is where we address the top issues. The second fit is where we go over what was done on the top, and we move to the hem and/or bustle styles. The pickup is when we will go over the bustles completed as well as verify that the whole fit is to your liking. If there are any last minute adjustments, I will do them while you wait. If there is not much work needed on the top fit, then we can skip the second fit and go right to the pickup. Bridesmaids and other garments only need the initial fit and then the pickup.
I try to do 2-3 weeks between all fittings. Sometimes it can vary based off your availability on the appointment calendar. Last minute alterations are accepted, but it will be based on availability for an appointment time as well as my sewing workload. Additional rush charges may apply. I will never take on more work than I can get done. See below on the sew while wait question.
Every client has a different situation and comfort level, and I would gladly walk through options on a case by case basis. I do not hold dresses for months at a time between fittings. If you would like to get started early to get the process done and checked off your list, I suggest trying your dress back on 2-3 weeks prior to your wedding date. If any changes are needed at that time, I would be more than happy to readjust it for free while you wait (appointment schedule allowing it) if we had previously done that alteration. If it is something that we did not address prior, there will be additional charges.
All are welcome! I work out of my home so space is kind of limited, but we can make anything work. If you need special accommodations, please let me know ahead of time. Many brides bring along bridesmaids, and we can do those fittings at the same time if it is scheduled.
I want everyone satisfied and happy with the work done! I do not require any money down, and full payment is required at pickup. If you would like to break up the cost between each fitting, we can do that as well. Payments must be received prior to taking the garment.
I am happy to work with any schedule. If you are driving a long ways, sometimes it is easier to do it while you wait. I only offer this service for basic alterations that can be done in a reasonable amount of wait time and my appointment schedule allows it. During the peak season these cases may be limited to weekdays only. If this is an option you would like to consider, please let me know and we can try to schedule a block of time.
Yes! I have the knowledge and ability to make whatever you would like or can dream up. If you would like something custom made or added to an existing garment, please let me know during the scheduling process as it will add to the fitting time and/or an additional appointment. I can also give you an additional quote for what you would like created.
After the work is completed and/or the garment has left my possession, I do not offer refunds as I do not require any money down. I try to tell all clients that if there is any hesitation with what we pinned, please let me know within 2-3 days after the fitting and prior to completing the work so we can readdress it or add another fitting. I want everyone to leave happy and satisfied so if there is any issue, I will gladly readjust anything we did and in most cases do them while you wait. I strive for your experience to be a stress free and fun process!
Bridal gowns require a final check. Bridsmaid dresses, prom dresses, formal dresses, and basic garments do not require a final check unless we needed to do quite a bit. I am aware that scheduling gets very tricky sometimes! You are more than welcome to pick up your garment (or a parent picking up their child's garment) and if there were any issues, I would be happy to readdress it at a later date. I do require full payment prior to taking the garment.
I am able to do alterations on a wide range of garments such as jacket zipper replacements, suit alterations, jean hems, etc. Depending on the time of year, there may be a couple week turnaround for basic items.
